If your into affiliate marketing and blogging, one thing you will use continuously are links. You’ll be using these to send your traffic to the next page you want them to see. I’m going to show you how to shorten a link for whatever you’re using it for.
When you assign a link to a word, generally the link will be long with what looks like a bunch of rubbish. A code of some type. When the cursor moves over the word to be clicked, the link will appear in the left bottom corner of the page. By shortening the link, what appears will be much cleaner and visually pleasing. Also, you can rename it so it makes more sense where it is taking your reader.
For an example, try putting your cursor here. If you notice in the bottom left corner, the link will appear. You’ll notice after the “/” it’s a long assortment of words, numbers and signs which make no sense. Here is the same link after I’ve shortened it and made it “pretty”. The reader can now see exactly where the link is taking them.
Free WordPress Plug-in
If you search the internet, you’ll find various plug-ins that can accomplish this for you. I have a favorite that I use and it’s free. It is called Pretty Link. You can shrink and share any URL on the internet from your own WordPress website. Along with being able to shorten your links, it will also track each hit you get on your URL and give you a detailed report. It’s simple to use and like I mentioned before, it is free.
