Say what?!  How to what?!  You are kidding me, right?  You’d be surprised how many people ask this question.  You would really be surprised how many google search…How To Google.  Over 648,000 each month!  So, don’t feel bad if you have the same question in mind.  Well, here’s where you’ll learn how to Google.  Actually, I’m going to take it a step further and show you how to google for the best results.

What Are You Searching For?

Okay, let’s get down to it.  First of course is, what are you searching for?  What is it you want to find out?  And, believe me, it can be anything under the sun.  There is not one question on earth that you won’t find a website offering an answer.  I won’t say it’s the right answer, but, it will be an answer.  And, just for your information, Bing and Yahoo are also search engines like Google, but, they do give different results at times.  However, we’re just sticking with Google here.  Okay, for the sake of example, let’s say you’re going to buy a new boxsprings and mattress.  So, we start our search with the word, mattress.

Google Time

First, you want to go to Google search, so, type in  This will take you to the Google page with the word “Google” in bright colorful letters, with a box beneath it and a flashing vertical line.  In this box is where you type mattress.  You will find that there are 115,000,000 results come up for that word!  The reason being, anything out there on the internet that has the word mattress in it, will show up as a result.  So, a lot of these results are hogwash to you.  You’ll need to narrow it down a bit.

Refine Your Search

I would say for a mattress, you would want to find it close as possible to you and you’re living in Frankfort, Kentucky, so let’s refine things a little bit and enter the phrase, images-7mattresses in Frankfort, Kentucky, in the box.  Now, we still have 220,000 results.  Of course, there are not this many mattress stores  in Frankfort, Kentucky and the reason for this many results, is because anything that has Frankfort or Kentucky in the title is now thrown in on the results.  You’ll see Mobile Homes for Sale in Frankfort, or, Studio Apartments for Rent in Frankfort, Ky.  What on earth do these have to do with you finding your mattress?  So, I have a way to show you how to get rid of all the extra baggage in your search results that will trim it down nicely for you.

The Quoted Search

The best way to get rid of all the thousands of results that come up, page after page of useless information that is getting in your way is very simple.  Instead of typing in, Mattresses in Frankfort, Kentucky…  Simply add quotation marks around the phrase like images-8this;  “Mattresses in Frankfort, Kentucky”.  Now your search results for this is 9.  This is what we are wanting.  This is realistic.  These are results of the true places you can get mattresses in Frankfort, Kentucky.  Or if you had a blog or article titled “Mattresses in Frankfort, Kentucky” this would tell you the exact number of competitors you had with the same title.  So, using quotation marks help in a number of ways.  If you had a particular brand in mind like Sealy then you would type “Sealy mattresses in Frankfort, Kentucky” and then just Sealy mattresses would be in your results.  This works on whatever you are searching for in Google search.  Instead of, baseball cards, type “baseball cards”.  Instead of, working from home jobs, type, “working from home jobs”.  Just remember to add quotation marks “” around whatever word or phrase you are searching for and you’ll get the best true results.

I hope this has helped you out on how to google search and especially how to google for the best results.  I truly never knew about the quoted search, myself, until a few weeks ago while working on my website.  The folks that have taught me unbelievable things about working online offered this tidbit of information to me.  I’d like to give you a free 7 day access to the community for reading this blog.
